The Dakota founders Dr. R. Michael and Farrar Murray believe that the best things in life happen when you are able to connect people with nature. The couple has worked with custom home builders to build and develop several astonishing properties around Alabama based on that simple philosophy, but had not discovered the land now known as The Dakota until 2011 when their son, Michael Jr., a talented Home Builder, pointed it out as a potential low-impact development opportunity.
